THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections Human Resource Office, Field Region 10 is seeking a Human Resource Assistant 2 to complete our team of HR professionals that deliver HR services to the State Correctional Institutions at Frackville and Mahanoy. In this role, you will help create a positive candidate experience while assisting with recruiting and placement operations, scheduling, and communication throughout the hiring process. In addition to serving as the recruitment and placement liaison, the incumbent will perform a variety of paraprofessional support functions such as workers compensation liaison and coordinating E-PAR and service now ticket functions. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports Human Resource operations for Field Human Resource Office 10, which serves SCI Frackville and SCI Mahanoy. The role contributes to efficient staffing and personnel processes across the region. As a Human Resource Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Recruitment Coordination: Manage the recruitment and placement process for approved vacancies
  • Position Tracking: Maintain detailed tracking logs and handle PAR submissions for staffing actions
  • Modified Duty Support: Review medical documentation and assist supervisors with modified duty assignments
  • HRIS Reporting: Prepare staffing, seniority, and complement reports for management use
  • Service Request Processing: Coordinate E-PAR and Service Now requests and verify required information
  • Leave and Attendance Guidance: Review leave records, identify patterns, and support supervisors in managing attendance
