Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Perfect Binder Operator to set up, operate, and monitor perfect binding equipment in a fast-paced print production environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with machine make-readies, changeovers, adjustments, troubleshooting, and quality control. The operator must be mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to consistently meet production and quality standards.
Schedule:
  • 1st shift: Monday to Friday: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
  • 2nd shift: Monday to Friday: 3:30pm - 11:00 pm
Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate perfect binding equipment according to job specifications.
  • Perform complete machine make-readies and changeovers.
  • Adjust feeders, glue systems, clamps, nipping stations, and trimming units as needed.
  • Monitor glue application, book alignment, spine quality, and finished trim.
  • Perform quality checks throughout production and make adjustments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and production issues and make necessary corrections.
  • Monitor machine speed, production output, and waste.
  • Read and follow job tickets, production specifications, and samples.
  • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance.
  • Complete production and quality paperwork accurately.
  • Communicate equipment or production issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety and operating procedures.
  • Assist with other bindery operations as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience operating a perfect binder in a commercial print or bindery environment.
  • Strong knowledge of perfect binding and finishing processes.
  • Proven ability to perform machine make-readies and changeovers independently.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience making adjustments to maintain consistent quality and production.
  • Ability to read and understand job tickets and production specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move materials as required.
Preferred Experience:
