Bindery Helper

The Bindery Helper assists Bindery Operators in daily operations, supporting the setup, cleaning, and light maintenance of bindery equipment. Responsibilities include removing folded products from the folder and placing them on carts or banding and preparing them for the shrink-wrap machine, as well as printing and applying carton labels. The helper is also responsible for loading unfolded products onto the folder table and completing additional tasks as requested by others in the bindery department. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential, along with performing general maintenance and lubrication of machinery. This role requires constant monitoring of finished product quality and becoming familiar with all aspects of the job inspection sheet.

The Bindery Helper must adhere to all required safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), ergonomic practices, and chemical hazard precautions, always performing duties in a way that protects the health and safety of all employees. Additional responsibilities include assisting with general housekeeping within the bindery area and performing other duties as assigned.

This position requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. It also involves extended periods of standing and walking, as well as frequent reaching, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, and arms.
