What does 'per hour' mean in a job listing?

'Per hour' in a job listing refers to the rate of pay an employee earns for each hour of work completed. Many organizations use scheduling software, shift bids, or availability forms to match shifts with employee preferences and business needs. While some per hour jobs allow for self-scheduling or swapping shifts with coworkers, others require fixed or rotating schedules set by management. It's common to discuss your availability during the hiring process to ensure a good fit. Be sure to ask about scheduling policies and opportunities for overtime or extra hours if flexibility is important to you.
