Job description

We are seeking an Medical Receptionist to join our team! You will perform clerical and administrative functions in order to drive success at our Port Jefferson Station pediatric office.

​​Job Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Perform all necessary receptionist duties including answering, screening, and routing of phone calls.
  • Obtaining patient demographics, medical insurance information and verifying eligibility.
  • Take appropriate messages and ensure the proper delivery of those messages.
  • Assess telephone calls, including determining urgency of calls and referring urgent medical queries to physician or nurse immediately.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Required Education and Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • MUST have at least 1 year of experience working as a Medical Receptionist or similar role.
