Job description

Registered Nurses (RN) – Case Manager / Utilization Review / CDI

Cedar Park Med is hiring Registered Nurses (RN) – Case Manager / Utilization Review / CDI for an immediate 13-week assignment in an acute care hospital. If you have strong pediatric case management experience and enjoy supporting patient care through coordination, documentation review, and clinical oversight, this is an opportunity to step into a structured, collaborative hospital environment. Extensions may be available.

Shift / Schedule

  • Day Shift – 8-hour shifts
  • 5 days per week
  • 13-week assignment (possible extension)
  • Start: ASAP

Position Overview

As an RN in Case Management / Utilization Review / CDI, you will help ensure patients receive appropriate, well-coordinated care while supporting accurate clinical documentation and medical necessity review. You'll work closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams to guide patient progression, support discharge planning, and maintain compliance with hospital standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct utilization review to confirm appropriate level of care and medical necessity
  • Support clinical documentation improvement (CDI) initiatives in collaboration with providers
  • Coordinate discharge planning and ongoing care needs, including pediatric populations
  • Communicate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient patient flow
  • Document findings and care coordination activities accurately in the medical record
  • Utilize EPIC to manage case management workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Current New York State RN Registration
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Minimum 1.5 years recent RN experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care hospital of similar size/level
  • Pediatric experience
  • Experience with an EPIC Electronic Medical Records
  • Experience in acute care hospital case management
