Are you detail-oriented, customer-focused, and energized by solving complex challenges? Join our Document Examination team as an International Banking Operations Associate. In this role, you'll review and examine trade documentation, ensure compliance with letter of credit requirements, and help facilitate the seamless movement of international trade.

Working alongside trade finance professionals, customers, and banking partners, you'll apply your expertise to evaluate documentation, identify discrepancies, mitigate risk, and deliver exceptional service throughout the transaction lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Review and examine trade documents against letter of credit requirements and international trade standards.
  • Determine compliance with letter of credit terms and identify discrepancies requiring resolution.
  • Process trade finance transactions for payment, acceptance, and settlement.
  • Support a variety of Global Trade & Standby Services (GTSS) and Foreign Exchange (FX) products throughout the transaction lifecycle, including:
  • Import and Export Letters of Credit
  • Documentary Collections
  • Banker's Acceptances
  • Standby Letters of Credit
  • International Remittance and Payment Processing
  • Foreign Exchange Settlements and Investigations
  • Facilitate communication among clients, business partners, and internal teams to ensure efficient transaction processing.
  • Review, execute, reconcile, and verify transactions and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure adherence to service level expectations, operational procedures, regulatory requirements, and product terms and conditions.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding documentation requirements, discrepancies, and transaction status.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, resources, and operational capacity are available to successfully complete transactions.
  • Assist in maintaining operational excellence while supporting a high-quality client experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of international banking products, payment services, foreign exchange, and general bank operating policies and procedures.
  • Experience with letters of credit, trade finance, trade documentation, or document examination.
  • Familiarity with UCP 600 and international trade finance standards preferred.
  • Understanding of documentary collections, standby letters of credit, and related trade products.
  • Strong problem-solving and client service skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues with minimal guidance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills when handling sensitive transactions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other business systems.

Location Expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

Pay Range: $27.50 - $36.68
