Responsibilities
The following statements are intended to describe the major elements and requirements of the position and should not be taken as an all inclusive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required, of an individual assigned to this job. The transporter transports patients to and from the department. Other duties include but are not limited to; Darkroom duties, ordering supplies, stocking, dressing patients and front office duties. This performs clerical duties for the department such as answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing requisitions for outpatients. Other duties include, but are not limited to, filing patient reports, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records. The transporter should demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of tests ordered in department person should demonstrate good telephone etiquette and be able to greet patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner. Provides clerical support by utilizing telephone, computer, office equipment, PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System) and by running errands throughout the facility.
