Job Description

As the Patient Transportation Manager, you will manage the day to day operations in the Central Transportation Department. This includes the movement of patients and equipment throughout the hospital complex, the dispatching of work, and tracking of these activities in the computer with Teletracking. Supervises by leading and acting as a positive role model. Continuously monitor staff performance and provide support for staff members. Creates an atmosphere of open, positive communication throughout the department. This position is located at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, direction and support for transportation supervisors and hourly staff to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to the safe transportation of patients.
  • Schedule and make job assignments when and where necessary, as well as maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Manages day-to-day operation of department to meet compliance with Aramark Healthcare+ and facility's standard including safety, policy and procedures.
  • Knowledge to train others in procedures and policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all clientele; train, hire and supervise; schedule and staff, while maintaining an excellent relationship with all parties involved.
  • Plans, directs, and controls the work of transporters and dispatchers to ensure the safe, courteous, timely processing of all requests for movement of patients as assigned as well as removal and delivery of stretchers and wheelchairs. 
  • Assists in transporting and dispatching as needed.
  • Effectively handles managerial situations including planning, control, problem solving, and communication. Uses good judgment in the decision-making process.
  • Completes daily rounds with user departments to increase customer satisfaction and monitor work performance. Completes service recovery as needed to ensure patient and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepares employee performance evaluations and competencies for approval and reviews with employees before required deadlines.
  • Minimizes errors, maximizes productivity, and maintains high quality by checking and monitoring data, staffing, and work in the department; tracks metrics. 
  • Develops and maintains systems for organizing work and information. Actively explores ways to improve quality of input and output of work.
Qualifications
  • Supervisory or Management experience with the ability to lead a team required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Patient Transportation Management experience desired.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills required.
  • Basic computer skills required 
  • Experience using the EPIC system is a plus
