Job Summary and Qualifications
The Throughput Coordinator assists with patient flow through the hospital and clinical coordination of care across the continuum. Responsibilities will include developing length of stay (LOS) and resource reduction strategies, as well as capitalizing on facility best practices. The Coordinator will also ensure that improvement opportunities are appropriately channeled to effect change, coordinate compliance initiatives with outside agencies, intervene with the hospitalists & PCP's to address and resolve issues related to facility utilization and patient flow process and facilitate strong working relationships between caregivers, case management and admitting departments to promote effective utilization management through coordination of efforts involving patient flow.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an associate, diploma or baccalaureate registered nursing program
Minimum two years clinical nursing experience required
Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
Preferred: Five years of clinical nursing experience
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
Current RN licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas
