Travel Med Surg RN
  • Shift: Days or Nights, 3x12s (7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
  • Experience: Med Surg RN
  • Required Certification: BLS
  • Unit Size: 28–29 private beds
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6–1:7
  • Common Diagnoses: Post-op, Orthopedic, Pneumonia, Dialysis, Palliative Care, Hospice, End-of-Life, Inpatient Chemo, COVID
  • Drips: Heparin and Morphine (comfort care); No cardiac drips
  • Respiratory: CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow (managed by RT)
  • Telemetry: Remote monitoring; RNs do not read strips
  • Weekend: Every other weekend + 2 Fridays per schedule
  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling and block scheduling based on unit needs
  • Float: Other Med Surg units only
  • Orientation: 1 precepted shift
  • Scrubs: Navy Blue
  • Travel Requirement: 50-mile radius rule (valid driver's license required at submission)
