Job Overview:
The Patient Access Representative provides professional and compassionate service to patients and families while completing registration, insurance verification, financial clearance, and front-desk responsibilities.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:
Required:
  • High School Diploma required

Preferred:
  • Healthcare registration or customer-service experience preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical records, such as Epic, preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, computer, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

As a Patient Access Representative, a typical day might include:
  • Greet and assist patients and visitors professionally.
  • Complete pre and patient registration and verify demographic and insurance information.
  • Obtain referrals, authorizations, physician orders, medical records, and required documentation.
  • Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
  • Conduct reminder phone calls
  • Scan insurance cards, identification, and related documents into the electronic medical record.
  • Answer telephone calls and direct patient questions to the appropriate team member.
  • Coordinate with clinical and financial teams to support timely patient care.
  • Assist patient with Uber rides
  • Maintain accurate records and protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and patient-experience initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
