Description:

ORIENTATION IS MON-FRI ON 8a-4:30p FOR 2-3 WEEKS

Half will be in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center

Position Purpose

Completes patient registrations/pre-registration processes following department procedures using identified technology systems. Processes include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance and patient liability information. Responsible for working with multiple department/hospital and web-based systems.

What you will do

  • Performs complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions

  • Verifies insurance requirements, obtains and understands insurance benefits

  • Ensures that all entries concerning demographic, financial and advanced directives are completed

  • Collects non-covered fees

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum High school or equivalent

  • One year experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and interview skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devices

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances

Position Highlights and Benefits

  • Per diem shift coverage in the Emergency Department
