Reports To: Pastry Supervisor
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Pastry Baker at La Segunda, you will learn time-honored techniques to prep, bake, and finish a wide variety of handmade pastries. This is a high-volume production and decorating role requiring both precision and passion for craft.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Bake and finish pastries according to the daily production sheet
• Mix and prepare pastry according to company recipes and standards
• Safely operate mixers, cookie machine, and sheeter
• Fill out the operations book as required
• Maintain La Segunda's high standards for product quality
• Communicate with baking team to ensure showcases are properly stocked
• Ensure pastries are fresh and remove items past their due date
• Abide by health department requirements and maintain a clean work area
• Complete assigned cleanup tasks at shift conclusion
• Assist with other duties as assigned by Pastry Supervisor or General Manager
WHAT YOU BRING
• 1-2 years minimum experience in pastry or baking
• Ability to follow recipes and production sheets precisely
• Food preparation experience required
• Ability to work well with others and self-motivated
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in heat
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
COMPENSATION
Pay range: $15.00-$18.00/hr based on experience. Weekly pay on Wednesdays.
