Description
  • supporting Fleet Maintenance operations in relation to maintaining effective parts inventories within the parts rooms, ordering parts/maintenance materials in emergencies, or as needed
  • receiving items/parts into the parts room
  • releasing/issuing items/parts and tools from the parts room
  • maintaining the items/parts inventory in parts room and
  • performing administrative tasks related to parts room inventory management

Other Compensation Information
  • Night differential: A $.75 per hour night differential is paid to associates regularly scheduled to work any hours between midnight and 3:00 a.m. (this does not include shifts that end at midnight or begin at 3:00 a.m.).
  • Weekend differential: A $2.00 per hour weekend differential is paid to associates for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November.
In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
Required Qualifications
  • high school diploma or its equivalent
  • be at least 20 years old
  • be able to work nights
  • be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
  • knowledge of the operation of a parts room
  • have a valid drivers license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before his or her start date in the position)
  • ability to obtain certification and operate powered industrial equipment
  • be able to lift a minimum of 65 pounds
  • successfully complete the following tests (before his or her start date in the position)
    • Basic Office Skills
    • Following Written Instructions and
    • Matching - Alphanumeric
  • working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • be able to read, write and solve math problems
  • be able to read and interpret schematics, and technical and parts manuals
  • be able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions
  • be capable of generating and processing work on a computerized maintenance-management system
  • be able to multi-task and work independently with little or no supervision
  • ability to handle confidential information
  • have the ability to work well with others and be a team member
  • show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work and
  • show commitment to Publix's mission.

Preferred Qualifications
  • current Boynton Distribution associate
  • Associate's degree in Business
  • 3 years of prior experience in an industrial parts room environment or inventory related experience
  • knowledge of the operation of a parts room in an industrial setting
  • knowledge of basic accounting principles and statistical data analysis
