Parts Department Associate


Position Summary:
The Parts Department Associate is responsible for sourcing, ordering, receiving, and managing automotive parts to support efficient repair operations. This role works closely with estimators, technicians, and vendors to ensure accurate parts procurement, timely delivery, and proper inventory control.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Order parts based on repair estimates and technician needs
  • Verify accuracy of parts orders (correct part numbers, pricing, availability)
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming parts for accuracy and damage
  • Label and organize parts for specific repair orders (ROs)
  • Coordinate returns of incorrect, damaged, or unused parts
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Track parts status and update team on delays or backorders
  • Assist estimators and technicians with parts-related questions
  • Maintain inventory levels and perform periodic inventory counts
  • Ensure proper documentation for all parts transactions (invoices, credits, etc.)
  • Keep parts area clean, organized, and efficien


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an auto body shop, dealership, or parts department preferred
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and terminology
  • Familiarity with estimating systems (e.g., CCC, Mitchell, Audatex) is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
