Position Summary
  • Candidate must be a selfmotivated, goalโ€‘oriented, and detailโ€‘oriented professional.
  • Must have extensive experience in nonprofit grant writing, storytelling, fundraising, donor relations, and 25 years of relevant and progressive professional experience.
  • Must bring proven, handson expertise in researching funding opportunities, developing compelling proposals, managing grant calendars, and completing grant reporting.
  • Knowledge of the Fox Cities, Greater Milwaukee, and Wisconsin philanthropic communities is highly desirable.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with funders, donors, and community partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fastโ€‘paced environment is essential.
  • Experience implementing fundraising campaigns and collaborating across teams to achieve development goals is required.
  • Familiarity with annual campaigns, prospect research, donor databases and tracking systems, donor stewardship (including acknowledgement writing), social media marketing, newsletters, and annual report development is strongly preferred.
  • All responsibilities within this position focus on relationship building, development, and fundraising to support Apricityโ€™s mission and continued growth.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Write grants and grant reports according to the annual grant schedule/calendar.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and development staff to develop, design, print, and distribute case statements, annual reports, annual appeals, campaign materials, newsletters, and planned giving collateral.
  • Promote the organization and campaigns through social media and eblast platforms.
  • Partner with the development team to solicit and manage sponsorship and match opportunities for fundraising campaigns.
  • Implement the recently developed planned giving program and associated stewardship plan.
  • Build, develop, and facilitate meaningful relationships with community members, businesses, individuals, board members, and volunteers through planned and informal engagement.
  • Work with staff, clients, and program participants to secure testimonials.
  • Compile and analyze program outcome data for internal and external reporting.
  • Strategize with leadership to develop volunteer, donor, collaborative funding, and program partnerships.
  • Collaborate with development staff to create and implement Donor Relationship Action Plans (planned donor touches).
  • Manage the donor database, including gift entry, donor acknowledgements, database maintenance, reporting, and eblasts.
  • Assist executive leadership and development staff with additional duties as assigned.
  • Attend occasional board, donor/funder, and organizational meetings to promote Apricityโ€™s programs and services.
  • Education
  • Associate or bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Experience
  • Experience working in a nonprofit environment is required, including grant writing/reporting, donor database management, and donor cultivation.
  • Experience in presentation preparation, public speaking, annual giving, fundraising campaigns, planned giving, communications, or public relations is desirable.
  • Knowledge
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, AI tools.
  • Skills
  • Proficiency in grant writing, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with strong problemโ€‘solving and relationshipโ€‘building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team committed to excellence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and timeโ€‘management skills; ability to meet tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn donor database systems; ability to multiโ€‘task and manage competing priorities.
  • Work Environment
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment with occasional remote work allowed.
  • Local travel to Apricity facilities may be required occasionally.
  • General office hours are MondayFriday, 7:30 AM4:00 PM, with flexibility as needed for meetings, deadlines, and events outside regular hours.
