Description
The Payroll Analyst (Part-Time) will play a pivotal role in managing payroll business processes, ensuring compliance with labor regulations, and supporting payroll operations within the Workday platform. This role encompasses detailed payroll data analysis, variance identification and reconciliation, and collaboration with a large corporate team to optimize payroll processes. The Analyst will establish thresholds for variance checks, manage labor regulations, and ensure the accurate and timely execution of payroll operations across multiple states.
  • Payroll Processing
  • Oversee and execute payroll processing within Workday, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees in compliance with company policies and state-specific labor regulations.
  • Provide day-to-day payroll system support, including managing interfaces to external vendors, developing automated review controls, and driving compliance with new business processes in the field. Collaborate with the HRIS team on data integrations.
  • Partner with HR and third-party relocation vendors to report YTD taxable earnings, update employee wage information quarterly, and ensure complete and accurate data submissions. Audit payroll register updates, review state tax information, and establish quarterly and year-end reconciliations.
  • Manage and monitor employee time and attendance records, including sign-offs, schedule corrections, and status adjustments.
  • Reporting and Analytics
  • Build, generate, and analyze payroll reports from UKG Dimensions and Workday to ensure accuracy and compliance, making critical adjustments as necessary.
  • Provide technical expertise with UKG Dimensions for timekeeping, scheduling, absence management, payroll integration, reporting, and configuration. Support implementations, troubleshoot issues, and train users.
  • Participate in and perform year-end activities to ensure the timely and accurate generation of year-end forms (e.g., W-2s). Manage daily Workday data files for new hires, terminations, pay changes, employee status updates, state changes, time information, and other employee data.
  • Audit data files for completeness and reasonableness before processing. Cross-check information against payroll registers and collaborate with HR/Workday IT resources to resolve system rejections or incomplete data daily.
  • Analyze payment files and perform complex payroll calculations, including gross pay, retirement, contract repayments, retroactive payments, tax information, and leave balances. Reconcile and submit payrolls for check processing, and coordinate with departments to address discrepancies.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute reports for stakeholders in Finance and HRIS teams. Establish taxable wage reports for federal, state, and other regulatory audits.
  • Conduct data audits to ensure accuracy, research errors, and resolve data inconsistencies.
  • Continuous Improvement and Complianc
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance service levels, partnering with other departments where necessary.
  • Maintain all payroll processing and taxation records securely and confidentially.
  • Evaluate new releases and functionality to identify opportunities to optimize the use of Workday and associated systems.
  • Assist with end-to-end, unit, and regression testing. Document and test controls for new processes to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
