Job description

Summary

The part time receptionist will cover lunches and time off for the full time receptionist. They will receive, greet, assist all visitors and prospective students with a warm giving posture maintaining a very positive attitude.

Essential Functions

  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls. Take messages for those that work remotely and send email with message(s).
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook and issue visitor badges).
  • Greet clients and visitors as soon as they arrive and connect them with the appropriate party.
  • Sort and separate mail after delivery and notify appropriate person for pick up. Obtain signature from person picking up packages.
  • Assist Student Services with assembling immigration folders.
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable.
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
  • Maintain Conference Room Schedule.

  • Communicate: The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Ascend/Descend: Must be able to walk up and down stairways.
  • Operate: Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment: phone, printer/copier.
  • Detect: The ability to observe details at close range

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Part time. Will cover lunches Mon-Fri, 12:00pm-1:00pm and days off for the full time receptionist.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (fax machine, copier and printer)
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
