Part-time - Language Services - Translation Department Project Coordinator
A Language Service Provider in the Northern VA area is seeking a bilingual Project Coordinator to manage multiple translation projects and deliver them on time with a high degree of accuracy. The ideal candidate must be a U.S. citizen who is intrinsically motivated, tech-savvy, and organized. They must also be able to multi-task and have a working knowledge of the translation management process.
At a minimum, the Translation Project Coordinator will perform the following duties:
1) Coordinate with clients, translators, and internal teams (translators, editors, transcribers, etc.) to deliver translation projects on time and to the highest standards.
2) Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of translation projects, ensuring that each project meets our stringent quality requirements (ISO 17100:2015) and exceeds client expectations.
3) Serve as the primary point of contact for clients assigned.
4) Support the company's Translation Project Managers with content-checking translated documents or assist them in managing their project portfolios during times of surge.
5) Understand clients' needs, provide delivery status updates, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
6) Assign tasks to translators, editors, and other team members, such as desktop publishers, if required - manage the entire translation lifecycle.
7) Review translated content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance.
8) Implement quality control processes to maintain high standards.
9) Manage resources effectively, including scheduling and budgeting.
10) Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the translation project lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications include:
1) Bachelor's degree in a foreign language, translation management, or other relevant field.
2) At least 2 years experience working in the language services industry; some translation project management experience preferred.
3) Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
4) Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5) Proficiency in using translation management software and other relevant tools; experience with Trados is a plus.
6) Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
7) Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
8) Proficiency in MS Office suite and a power user of MS Word with formatting skills.
9) Languages Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish; multilingual fluency is a plus.

This is a remote position.
