Janitorial Supervisor

*This position is part-time from 5pm - 9pm*

*This job is located at the Trussville Middle School at Trussville, AL*

Job Summary

The Janitorial Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that the building and facilities are clean, maintained, and presentable at all times. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and customer service, as well as, managing and motivating a team of cleaners to be quality driven.

Job Duties:

Supervision of Cleaning Staff by managing the cleaning team, assigning tasks, and ensuring they are performing their job duties by managing cleaners in these areas:

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of lobbies, waiting areas, hallways, and other common areas.
  • Continuously monitor, service, and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are fully stocked with supplies (paper towels, soap, etc.).
  • Proactively disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, countertops, and elevator buttons.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to any spills or immediate cleaning requests.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the day.
  • Interact in a friendly and professional manner with clinic staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Maintain a neat and organized janitorial closet and manage supply inventory.
  • Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Any other duties as mandated by the scope of the contract.
  • Communicate effectively any irregularities, equipment or building damage,
  • Follow security protocols as dictated by the contract.
  • Wear company issued shirts.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.

Monitoring the Performance of Staff and providing guidance as needed.

Training and Development of new employees on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and the proper use of chemicals and equipment.

Management of Inventory by ensuring that the cleaning team has the necessary supplies and equipment to perform their duties effectively.

Requirements

  • Must have proven leadership experience and skills.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in a janitorial role with a thorough understanding of cleaning methods, safety regulations, and the proper use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Must have supervisory experience of at least 3 years of a team of 5 employees or greater.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, move up to 25 lbs without restrictions.
