Find your purpose assisting our patients at CentraCare as a Patient Access Assistant!
Our Patient Access Assistants take on the vital role of registering patients at CentraCare. In this role you will be working day shift in hospital with the Emergency Department. This role requires independent analysis, judgment, and comprehensive knowledge of facility procedures. Responsibilities entail obtaining and verifying information to establish billable patient accounts. Moreover, you will maintain and enforce patient safety and other safety protocols as necessary. Your responsibilities will include direct patient interaction, registering patients for appointments, scheduling appointments, communicating information to other departments, and confirming insurance details to ensure the accuracy and integrity of processed documents.
Schedule:
  • Part-time 32 hours every two weeks
  • Variable shifts Monday-Friday
  • 8-hour shift between 2:30pm-2am
  • Rotating weekends of 2 weekends on and 2 weekends off
  • Rotating holidays

Pay and Benefits:
  • Starting pay at $21.30 per hour, however we pay more for experience.
    • Pay Range: $21.30 - $32.21 per hour

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years related office experience.
  • Medical Terminology preferred.
  • One to two year post high school training in clerical, secretarial or business area preferred.
  • One-year prior scheduling, billing, patient access, accounts receivable and/or collections experience in healthcare, preferably in a clinic or hospital preferred.
  • Customer services skills are essential.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills required.
