Job description

LHH is seeking an experienced Procurement Assistant to provide temporary, part-time support to a lean Procurement function supporting federally funded programs. This role reports to the Senior Contract Analyst and will independently manage procurement and contract compliance with minimal ramp-up.
This is a hands-on role responsible for end-to-end contract lifecycle management, ensuring strict adherence to CFR / Uniform Guidance and CDC grant requirements. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning procurement compliance beyond contract drafting, including vendor selection, documentation, and audit readiness.
This is a fully remote opportunity , with candidates required to reside in one of the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MA, MI, NE, NC, OH, OK, RI, SC, TX, VA, WA
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle (drafting, negotiation, execution, amendments, closeout)
  • Ensure compliance with federal and non-federal grant procurement requirements (CFR / Uniform Guidance)
  • Oversee vendor selection, onboarding, validation, and compliance checks
  • Draft and manage MOUs and contract documentation
  • Monitor vendor performance and contractual obligations
  • Maintain contract tracking and documentation (Smartsheet preferred)
  • Support post-award activities, audits, risk management, and compliance reviews
  • Partner with Finance and Grants teams on federally funded programs
  • Coordinate approvals, routing, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with SOP development and provide procurement guidance as needed
Qualifications
Must-Have
  • 5-7+ years of procurement or contract administration experience
  • Government or nonprofit environment experience
  • Strong knowledge of CFR / Uniform Guidance and federal grant compliance
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, Public Administration, or related field
  • Ability to work independently in a highly regulated environment
Nice-to-Have
  • Procurement certifications (CPPB, CPPO, CPCM)
Technical Skills DocuSign, Smartsheet, Sage (preferred), SharePoint/OneDrive
Must provide own computer (Mac or PC)
Job Type:
  • Contract (Part-Time)
  • Duration: Approximately 8 weeks (short-term coverage)
  • Hours: ~20-22 hours per week; Schedule: Flexible; preference for East Coast hours (8:00 AM-6:00 PM). Lighter workload on Fridays.
