Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists in Stantec's Water Sector for a highly motivated Civil or Environmental Engineering Project Manager with water and wastewater conveyance and treatment design, as well as construction experience.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of design professionals and technicians and/or construction quality assurance staff providing construction quality assurance observation and reporting services
  • Management of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Interact with clients and internal leadership regarding status of project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Apply and share experience/knowledge of treatment, wastewater collection, and water system conveyance and facility design
  • Lead and manage preparation of engineering reports and construction documents including design drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates
  • Research and understand issues related to wastewater and water resources that impact individual projects
  • Ensure that project's requirements are met in a timely and effective manner
  • Provide project oversight, coordination, and problem solving and coordinate with staff to provide Engineering Services During Construction for multiple projects under construction concurrently.
  • Be an active member in a local civil, environmental, or water related public works professional organization to promote and represent the firm.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Effective communicator (verbal and written) able to work well with others and/or lead teams.
  • Ability to work cohesively with a diverse range of personalities.
  • Ability to lead and mentor staff to support their career development.
  • Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Efficient project execution of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Can develop construction cost estimates.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project or Primavera project and able to develop design and construction schedules.
  • Understands client expectations, project budgeting, proposal writing, invoicing.
  • Technical expert in all relevant areas of design and understanding of various construction methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, Adobe/Bluebeam and AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in relevant 2D required, both 3D platform preferred (Autodesk and Bentley) design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, InfoWORKS, PondKing, StormCAD, WaterCAD, Biowin, GPS-X, Visual MINTEQ and HADES, in accordance with expertise.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution. Masters of Science in Civil/Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Minimum of 12+ years of experience or the combination of education and experience. Design, construction, and management experience in Florida preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
