To thrive as a Part Time Outpatient Coder, you need a solid understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems, and knowledge of healthcare regulations, usually supported by a coding certification such as CPC or CCS. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and coding software is essential for efficiency and accuracy.
