Job description

We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to become a part of our team!

HOPE SURGICAL PLLC is a faith-based surgical practice based on Christ’s principles: Helping Others Promote Excellence (HOPE). You will perform routine administrative assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly.

Job Summary:

  • Full time/part time position available. Knowledge of Athena Electronic Medical Record /CERNER a plus. Knowledge of medical insurance, authorization, referrals, CPT and ICD-10 codes beneficial. No weekends. Generous PTO. BCBS PPO medical, dental, vision coverage included with 401k for full-time employees. Additional bonus incentives are available. Compensation $18/hr. Great communication, people and organizational skills requested. Computer skills required. Environment is drug and smoke-free.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner: Complete forms for prior authorization, surgical boarding, sending/receiving/reviewing patient medical records via fax and Electronic Medical Record and organization of records, labs, consultants, referrals
  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff: Interview patients to obtain their medical history and accurate insurance information
  • Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures: Update and maintain ATHENA Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and verification of insurance as needed
  • Maintain education: Complete training modules in ATHENA, customer service, HIPAA, cybersecurity and healthcare compliance as required throughout the year

  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in demanding environment
  • Computer skills required, including Microsoft outlook
  • Completion of drug test and background check required

Work Environment

  • 8-hr to 10-hr workday OR Full time 40 hrs/week
  • Must work TUESDAYS for clinic
