Description
Schedule: Full-time 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 8am - 4:30pm
Department: PACE of Southwest Michigan | St. Joseph, MI & Niles, MI
What You'll Do:The Medical Records Clerk plays a vital role in supporting high-quality participant care by ensuring medical records are accurate, organized, and secure. In this collaborative and fast-paced environment, you'll work alongside dedicated clinical teams to maintain participant assessments, care plans, and treatment documentation. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping staff access timely patient information, supporting quality improvement efforts, and contributing to a positive, team-oriented workplace focused on exceptional care and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Organize, file, and maintain participant medical records in both physical and electronic formats.
  • Input, update, and retrieve participant data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Support the training of staff in using the EHR system effectively.
  • Ensure that all medical records are maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in preparing for audits by ensuring that all records are properly maintained and available for review.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers and clinical staff to ensure the accurate and timely documentation of participant care, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for medical records, ensuring that proper authorization is obtained before release of information.
