Job description

Join our clinical staff as an essential Aspire Allergy Medical Assistant and contribute to our mission of curing patients with allergy, asthma, and sinus problems. You'll be administering allergy tests and injections, providing exceptional support during in-office procedures, and assisting with front-office administrative tasks. Help us deliver an extraordinary patient experience from start to finish!

Clinic Schedule & Hours:
Monday, 8am-5pm 
Tuesday, 7am-5pm 
Thursday, 8am-5pm
  • Escorting patient to exam room; obtaining vitals, past/present medical history, and current medication list
  • Effectively communicating allergy testing and treatment protocols to patients
  • Administering subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections
  • Conducting thorough and accurate spirometry testing
  • Performing all testing and treatment in accordance with Aspire Allergy's protocols and safety measures
  • Navigating EHR system to record accurate patient health information
  • Serving patients & visitors by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately
  • Assist in answering incoming and outgoing phone calls and providing accurate information
  • Tracking clinical inventory and resupply when needed
  • Ensuring all of end of day reports and logs are accurate and complete
  • Following all HIPAA rules and regulations including confidentiality of patient information
  • Adhering to Aspire Allergy's protocols and safety measures
  • Adhering to OSHA requirements including universal precautions and sharps disposal guidelines
  • Willingness to be cross-trained in a variety of both front and back-office duties to provide full cycle clinic support. Those front office duties are to include, but are not limited to:
    • Become proficient in the Practice Management (PM) side of our Electronic Health Record.
    • Obtain CT authorizations.
    • Scan patient documents and medical records and attach them to charts.
    • Check patients in, including obtaining correct information such as demographics, PCP, contact and insurance information.
    • Checking patients out, including taking payment.
    • Communicating an Out of Pocket Max for a patient.
    • Sending End of Day emails to appropriate parties.
    • Scheduling patient appointments.
    • Enrolling patients in treatment of choice.
  • Must have basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must possess exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate with others to exchange information effectively
  • Must be able to administer subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections
  • Must be able to manually take patient vital signs
  • Must possess the ability to maintain effective working relationship with patients, medical staff and the public
  • Must possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in a difficult or emergent situation
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, balance with full range of body motion including handling and lifting up to (20) lbs
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer/keyboard at (50) wpm, calculator, telephone, copier and fax
  • Requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel between clinics
Required education and experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license
Preferred education and experience
  • Completed Medical Assistant Program or Degree
  • 1+ Years of Medical Assistant Experience
  • 1+ Years of Medical Receptionist Experience
  • Medical Assistant Certificate, vocational nurse license or related experience
  • Current CPR Certification
