Do part time line cooks make a lot of money?

Part time line cooks typically earn an hourly wage that is below full-time salaries, with wages often ranging from minimum wage to slightly above, depending on experience and location. Overtime, tips, and tips sharing can increase overall earnings, but part time positions generally do not provide high income compared to full-time culinary roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time line cook, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Line Cook, you need basic culinary skills, food safety knowledge, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with kitchen equipment, point-of-sale systems, and certifications such as a food handler's permit are typically required. Strong time management, teamwork, and the ability to stay calm under pressure set top candidates apart. These skills are essential to ensure efficient food preparation, consistent quality, and a safe, collaborative kitchen environment.

What is a part time line cook?

Part time line cooks are kitchen staff who prepare, cook, and plate food in restaurants or other food service establishments, typically working fewer hours than full-time employees. They are responsible for following recipes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring that dishes are prepared efficiently and accurately. Part time line cooks often work shifts during peak hours, such as lunch or dinner service, and may assist with cleaning and organizing the kitchen. This role is ideal for those seeking flexible work hours or entry-level experience in the culinary industry.

Part-time line cooks often face challenges such as adapting quickly to fast-paced kitchen environments, balancing varying shift schedules, and maintaining consistency in food preparation. Building strong relationships with coworkers and being open to learning can make it easier to handle busy shifts and adapt to different kitchen routines.

Job description

Become a part of a contemporary culture that celebrates individuality, creativity, and teamwork! We are redefining the essence of hospitality and are looking for energetic, down-to-earth team players who thrive by making genuine connections, crafting experiences, and fostering good vibes.
MOLLIE ASPEN is a new, 68-room boutique hotel that occupies a prime location on Paepcke Park in the heart of Aspen, Colorado. Drawing inspiration from the inimitable Mollie Gibson, a beloved local figure known for her restless enthusiasm for the outdoors and ability to bring people together, the hotel pays homage to her significant contributions to Aspen's early social, artistic, and adventurous fabric.
Designed by award-winning studio Post Company, MOLLIE's interiors are subtly inspired by the Aspen tradition of being firmly grounded while gazing abroad - a seamless blend of understated luxury and residential comfort. The property holds a quiet confidence and commitment to a reduction of excess with interiors that thoughtfully utilize native materials from Aspen and the wider Western region, accentuated with natural woods, earthen ceramics, and hand-dyed textiles. MOLLIE’s lobby fosters an inviting atmosphere for visitors and locals alike, where the eclectic mix of differing personas is celebrated and upheld.
Petit Trois Le Valley opened its doors in 2018 in Sherman Oaks. This second, more spacious location is intended to feel like a lavish French Brasserie, including a gorgeous bar, banquet lined dining room, Chef’s counter in front of the open kitchen, and a second dining room which can be reserved for larger parties and private Events.
