Employees in these roles work fewer hours than full-time staff but still accrue retirement benefits through IPERS, which is a defined benefit pension plan for public employees in Iowa. Eligibility and benefits may depend on the number of hours worked and the employer's policies. These positions can be found in various sectors, such as education, government, and public services.
