Mercy High School is growing and looking for new teachers to join our faculty and staff!
Mercy High School, an all-girls college preparatory secondary school is hiring a part-time History Teacher to join our team! Sections may include college-prep or AP courses of the following subject areas: World History, US History, Government, Economics, Contemporary World Issues, and AP Psychology. Teachers have the opportunity to work in a small all-girls school environment.
Position will teach a varied History curriculum. We are looking for applicants who can use engaging lessons to make History come alive. Reporting to the History Department chairperson, the teacher is responsible for the overall coordination of teaching in his/her subjects including executing well-developed lesson plans, accurate assessment of student's progress, participation in department meetings and team planning sessions, supervision of students, willingness to learn new methodology and support departmental goals, ability to undertake co-curricular responsibilities.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. In addition the person should have the following experience and/or education to perform the job successfully:
Minimal qualifications: ? B.A in a Social Science field ? CA Secondary Teaching Credential ? At least 3 years teaching experience in a secondary school environment desirable ? Willingness to use or learn to use technology to enhance learning and engagement in the classroom
Additional Preferred Qualifications: ? Master's Degree in History, education, or related topic ? Competency in G-Suite
Requirements / Qualifications
