Job description

The Part-Time Grant Writer supports Catholic Charities' Development team by researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to foundation and corporate funders. The position focuses primarily on smaller foundation grant opportunities while developing expertise in Catholic Charities' programs, outcomes, and funder relationships. This role is designed to build organizational fundraising capacity and may expand in scope as experience and organizational needs grow.Key Responsibilities and Duties:Researching and tracking grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other funders, that align with Catholic Charities' programs and priorities, with an initial focus on smaller foundation grantsWriting, editing, and submitting grant proposals and required supporting materialsCollaborating with program and finance staff to gather programmatic, budgetary, and outcome informationManaging grant timelines and submission deadlinesAssist with compiling information and drafting reports for assigned foundation grants, working with program staff to gather required data and outcomes.Participate in regular check-ins with supervisor to discuss priorities, review proposal drafts, and receive feedback.Develop a working knowledge of Catholic Charities' programs, outcomes, and impact in order to represent the agency's work effectively in writing.Attend relevant agency meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as made available.Completes all other duties as assigned.Qualifications Required:Education:Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education, relevant coursework, volunteer service, internships, and professional experience demonstrating strong writing and research skills will be considered.Experience:Demonstrated writing, research, and organizational skills through employment, volunteer service, internships, or academic experience.Experience in a nonprofit, educational, social service, communications, or office environment preferred.One year of professional or graduate-level writing experience preferred.Must pass a state-enforced background check.
