Job description

Our Lady of Hope/St. Luke School, located in Dundalk, Maryland, is seeking a qualified part-time Music Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic school year. The part-time PreK-8th Grade Music Teacher is responsible for implementing daily standard-based lessons to support student's application of developmentally appropriate skills and concepts in music and music appreciation, as well as to engage parents and colleagues in support of the curriculum as prescribed by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. This position will work 10-hours per week.
Essential Functions
  • Teaching general styles of music.
  • Integrating students of all levels.
  • Incorporating musical instruments and movement in lessons.
  • Planning and implementing a program of instruction and lesson plans.
  • Preparing students for school concerts and planning music experiences.
  • Inspiring and motivating students to extend themselves to after school music clubs.
  • Building relationships and mentoring students.

Position Qualifications
  • Degree in Music Instruction, Education, or related field.
  • MSDE certification in music education or elementary education, or the ability to obtain certification in 1-2 years.
  • Experience teaching at the grade school level.
  • Knowledge of the Catholic Faith preferred.
