Job description

The Music Therapist will deliver therapeutic interventions through music to support the emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being of diverse patient populations. Serving both pediatric patients and those with mental health disorders or physical disabilities, the therapist will conduct individual and group sessions within a multidisciplinary care team. This role combines clinical expertise with creativity to enhance patient outcomes in both on-site and remote settings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client assessments to identify therapeutic needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Deliver music interventions in both individual and group therapy sessions
  • Document patient progress and therapy outcomes
  • Provide counseling and emotional support to patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
  • Contribute to program development and improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from a nationally accredited University.

Current Nevada State licensure of music therapy from Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH), through the Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC) or eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in music therapy
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or related field
  • Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
  • Proficient in active listening and emotional intelligence
  • Skilled in music therapy techniques, client assessment, and treatment planning
  • Strong communication, empathy, collaboration, and crisis intervention abilities
