Join our DPAC team this coming August as Event Staff, where you'll play a crucial role in creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience for guests attending a variety of live events and performances.
As an Event Staff team member, you will assist with guest entry, ticket verification, venue navigation, crowd management, and general guest services throughout the facility. This role combines customer service, safety awareness, and event operations, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with people in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do:
• Customer Service Approach: Provide exceptional customer service with a friendly, welcoming, and professional attitude while interacting with guests throughout the venue.
• Guest Entry and Admission Support: Assist with guest entry procedures and support guest screening processes, scanning printed and mobile tickets, monitoring designated entry points, and helping to ensure an efficient arrival process.
• Guidance and Assistance: Answer guest questions and provide directions regarding seating locations, venue amenities, event schedules, accessibility services, and other event-related information.
• Safety and Security Support: Help maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring designated areas, observing guest activity, and following established safety and security procedures.
• Crowd Management: Monitor guest flow in entryways, lobbies, concourses, and seating areas while assisting with crowd control and maintaining an orderly environment.
• Event Operations Support: Redeploy to various locations throughout the venue as needed to assist with guest services, seating support, lobby operations, or other event-related needs.

• Ability to work in a variety of event environments, including heights, darkened corridors, loud noise, flashing lights, and haze effects.
Additional Requirements:
• Available for flexible hours year-round, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• This is a part-time position with shifts scheduled based on event needs.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation to Durham, NC.
• Access to a mobile device, tablet, or computer for work-related communication.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Additional Information
• All Event Staff are cross-trained in ushering, ticket taking, and guest screening. Employees may indicate a preferred assignment area; however, position assignments are based on event staffing needs.
• Please note: Event Staff Orientation & Training in August is mandatory for all new hires and must be completed prior to starting work at DPAC.
• Employment with DPAC is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, where permitted by law. Authorization for the background check will be requested following a conditional offer of employment.
