  • Market-Leading Innovation: The Relay platform captures 1 billion new data points weekly and features award-winning AI tools like TeamTranslate, which has seen 500% YoY growth.
  • World-Class Leadership: Our already stellar C-suite has been bolstered by leaders to help us scale toward our next major milestones.
  • The Relay Culture: Work from our amenity-rich Raleigh campus (fitness center, sports courts) with 100% paid health insurance and a team dedicated to "Best Work In My Life" (BWIML).

If you're passionate about technology, driven to make a difference and align your work to a bigger mission, and excited to join a company that's shaping the future of frontline work, we encourage you to explore opportunities at Relay!

We're looking for a strategic, execution-obsessed Events and Facilities Manager to lead two of the most visible functions on our team: events and facilities. You'll set the vision and own the outcomes - from all-hands events and large-scale offsites to company-wide celebrations - while ensuring our physical space reflects our culture and scales with our growth.

You're a strategic leader and connector who thrives on logistics, excels at cross-functional influence, and takes real pride in building programs that scale. You're proactive and decisive - just as comfortable setting the strategy for next year's events calendar as you are negotiating a vendor contract.

This role will require you to be on-site 5 days a week to ensure all facilities, catering, and events are being managed appropriately. This role also requires the ability to travel off-site to support events held in different locations around the Triangle area.

What You'll Do:

Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of a wide range of company events - including large-scale off-sites and kickoffs (SKO/CKO), seasonal socials, team celebrations, fundraisers, and community engagement events
  • Own the full event lifecycle end-to-end: setting strategy and objectives, concept and agenda development, venue and vendor sourcing, budget ownership, cross-functional coordination, and on-site execution
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, business partners, and cross-functional stakeholders - translating business priorities into event strategies that drive connection, culture, and results
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships - including branded merchandise partners, venues, caterers, and activity vendors - ensuring quality, value, and on-brand experiences
  • Build and own a scalable events infrastructure - including playbooks, run-of-show templates, planning checklists, and vendor rosters - so the function can grow without losing quality or speed
  • Establish and own a feedback loop post-events - synthesizing insights, reporting on outcomes, and using data to continuously raise the bar on future experiences

Facilities & Space Management

  • Own the overall facilities function - setting standards, overseeing day-to-day operations, directing vendor relationships, and ensuring our physical environment reflects our culture and enables how teams do their best work
  • Drive space planning strategy, including developing multi-phase office layout plans, managing seating assignments, and leading workspace transitions that keep pace with company growth
  • Own relationships with facilities vendors and building management, handling maintenance requests, supplies, and office operations
  • Own the lease agreements process with our building management
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the office environment - from traffic flow and team neighborhoods to amenities and signage
  • Own onsite logistics for external visitors, guests, and community programs (e.g., job shadowing days, campus partnerships), ensuring a consistently professional and welcoming experience

Catering & Food Programming

  • Serve as the sole point of contact for all catering associated with our onsite vendor - owning the relationship, coordinating logistics, and ensuring seamless execution for every order
  • Manage recurring weekly breakfast and lunch programs, handling menu planning, headcount tracking, scheduling, and any last-minute changes with the vendor
  • Coordinate all event-related catering needs - from team socials and offsites to all-hands meetings and client-facing events - ensuring food and beverage experiences are on-brand, on-budget, and well-executed
  • Proactively communicate catering details to internal stakeholders and ensure dietary needs, allergies, and preferences are consistently accounted for
  • Track catering spend, review invoices for accuracy, and identify opportunities to optimize cost without compromising the team member experience
  • Build and maintain catering order templates, lead times, and vendor SOPs so the process is reliable, repeatable, and easy to hand off

Community & Team Member Experience

  • Responsible for communicating relevant org-wide communications regarding campus updates, emergency notices, and any other pertinent information to ensure we are adhering to the policies of our campus
  • Lead community engagement efforts, including designing and hosting external programs like high school job shadowing days and driving internal team member participation
  • Partner with the broader People Services team to shape team member engagement strategy, seasonal programs, and culture moments - bringing your expertise in events and space to elevate the full team member experience
  • Partner with the Recruiting team to support off-site recruiting events to ensure they are set up well to represent our brand and career opportunities
  • Drive People Services team projects and initiatives, leveraging your operational expertise and strategic perspective to move work forward and raise the quality of everything the team builds

What Were Looking For:

Experience And Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in event management, facilities management, or a closely related function - with a track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder programs in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of concurrent events and projects at varying scales - without dropping details or losing your composure
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts or pricing
  • Strong budget ownership experience - developing annual budgets, managing spend across multiple programs, identifying efficiencies, and presenting financial summaries to leadership
  • Demonstrate a nimble, tech-savvy approach to project management by leveraging our core stack, including Notion, Google Workspace, and AI tools such as Claude and Gemini. You should have a proven track record of staying organized in fast-paced environments and a history of quickly mastering new platforms (e.g., Asana, Trello, Canva), ensuring our workflows remain modern and efficient.
  • Strong executive communication skills - you keep senior stakeholders informed, influence without authority, and navigate ambiguity with clarity and confidence
  • Ability to be on-site 5 days a week for facility needs and ability to travel off-site for events when needed

Who You Are:

  • A strategic planner and operator - you think three steps ahead, build systems that scale, and know how to translate vision into flawless execution
  • Resourceful and solutions-oriented - when something goes sideways (and it will), you adapt quickly and keep things moving
  • A connector who builds genuine relationships across the organization and knows that the best events happen because of the people behind them
  • Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture - you hold yourself accountable to the seating chart AND to whether the event actually moved the needle
  • Energized by variety - no two days look the same, and that's exactly how you like it
  • Team-first mindset - you take pride in making the people around you and the company look great
