Clinical Informatics Consultant



Position Summary:

The Clinical Informatics Consultant leverages healthcare knowledge, critical thinking, analytics, and change management strategies to identify and facilitate the adoption of clinical information systems and technologies that support and improve the patient, family, and clinician's experience. Develops and maintains trusted advisor relationships with business, clinical, and operations leaders that include guidance for optimizing use of technology capabilities and deliverables.


The Clinical Information Services Consultant serves as a liaison with clinical care teams and develops trusted advisor relationships with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders across Access, partners, and affiliates. The Consultant coordinates with others to enhance the adoption, value, and efficiency of technology solutions and platforms. Serves as a liaison between clinical operations, information services (IS), and system users. Partner with UW Health IS and informatics teams on tickets, projects and changes.



Desired candidate would have the following qualifications:


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare, education or IT.
  • Epic Certification for assigned support area (Ambulatory, Wisdom, Cadence, Prelude and other badges as needed) within 1 year of employment


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
  • Epic Certification for assigned support area (Ambulatory, Wisdom, Cadence, Prelude and other badges as needed).
  • Project management skills.
  • Clinical Informatics experience
  • Experience with Epic health record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite and core applications
  • Experience working with a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC).
  • Familiarity with LEAN process improvement or equivalent methodology
