Job Description: Part-Time Cook

Location: Embassy Suites by Hilton Palmdale, California
Department: Food & Beverage / Culinary
Reports To: Executive Chef / Food & Beverage Manager
Status: Part-Time

Position Overview

The Part time Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals in accordance with Embassy Suites and Hilton brand standards. This position requires a passion for food preparation, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing an excellent guest dining experience. The cook will support breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquet operations as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and plate food items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and Hilton brand guidelines.

  • Support breakfast buffet, made-to-order stations, and banquet/event dining.

  • Ensure all food is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with local health and safety regulations.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, prep areas, and equipment.

  • Assist with inventory control by minimizing waste and properly storing products.

  • Follow all Hilton service standards to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

  • Communicate effectively with fellow team members, servers, and management to ensure smooth service.

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications
  • Previous cooking or culinary experience in a hotel, restaurant, or similar environment preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safety practices.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Food Handler's Permit/Certification required (must obtain prior to start).

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

  • Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
