 The Microsoft 365 Strategy Architect is responsible for assessing, designing, and optimizing enterprise Microsoft 365 security, compliance, governance, and endpoint management solutions. This role serves as a trusted advisor to customers, providing strategic guidance and hands-on architectural leadership across Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, Intune, and related Microsoft security technologies.

The architect evaluates existing environments, identifies security and compliance gaps, recommends best practices, and develops implementation roadmaps aligned to business objectives, regulatory requirements, and Zero Trust principles.

In this role, you will: 

Microsoft Purview

  • Assess data governance, classification, and sensitivity labeling maturity.
  • Review and optimize data protection and compliance strategies.
  • Design and implement Insider Risk Management capabilities.
  • Evaluate and strengthen controls to prevent data exfiltration and unauthorized data sharing.
  • Develop recommendations for information protection, retention, and compliance programs.

Microsoft Sentinel

  • Conduct assessments of existing Sentinel deployments.
  • Review security monitoring, alerting, automation, and incident response processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve threat detection and security operations effectiveness.
  • Recommend SIEM architecture enhancements and operational best practices.

Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps

  • Review and enable Shadow IT discovery and reporting capabilities.
  • Assess session controls and conditional access integrations.\
  • Evaluate cloud application governance and risk management configurations.
  • Compare current-state configurations against Microsoft security best practices.
  • Deliver recommendations to improve visibility and control of SaaS applications.

Microsoft Intune

  • Perform endpoint management and configuration health assessments.
  • Review device compliance, configuration profiles, and security baselines.
  • Evaluate Conditional Access policies related to device and endpoint verification.\
  • Identify configuration gaps and develop remediation plans.
  • Implement improvements aligned with Zero Trust and modern endpoint management strategies.

Architecture & Strategy

  • Develop strategic roadmaps for Microsoft 365 security and compliance initiatives.
  • Lead workshops, discovery sessions, and stakeholder interviews.
  • Produce architecture documentation, security assessments, and executive presentations.
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide guidance on governance, operational readiness, and adoption strategies.


 

Who You Are: 

  • 7+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Microsoft Purview
    • Microsoft Sentinel
    • Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
    • Microsoft Intune
    • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
    • Conditional Access and Zero Trust architecture
  • Experience performing security assessments, architecture reviews, and remediation planning.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, data governance, and information protection frameworks.
  • Experience leading customer-facing engagements and presenting to executive stakeholders.

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
