Collections System Field Crew Supervisor

ABOUTTHIS POSITION:
EXPECTEDHIRING RANGE: $73,291.50 - 89,766.56
WORKLOCATION: 105-A Upchurch St, Apex, NC 27502 USA
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm

WHAT YOUWILL BE DOING:
This position is responsible for supervision and coordination of a team of 2-5 full-time employees, (Equipment operators, Utility Maintenance Workers etc.) engaged in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the assigned utility assets (Water or Sewer). The position plays a vital role within the organizational leadership, guiding team members in the pursuit of strategic goals and fostering a positive work culture. The position evaluates and documents team members' performance, provides feedback and helps team members develop and enhance their skills.
This position is supervised by the Collections Systems Supervisor.
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
A SAMPLEOF THE ESSENTIALS:
  • Coordinates and participates in daily activities of 2 to 5 man work teams.
  • Assigns daily work order and service requests
  • Processes and reports information, assuring thorough work order completion.
  • Quantifies and orders materials and supplies for daily activities and projects.
  • Train and assist subordinates in utility discipline skill development.
  • Attends and conducts safety meetings with team members; assures compliance with all OSHA regulated work activities and Town safety policies.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, mentors and coaches team members.
  • Participates in hiring interviews.
  • Problem solves issues and address challenges.
  • Performs Equipment and Vehicle operation to Town standards and policies.
  • Serves as Primary Supervisory contact in the On-Call rotation.
  • Coordinates, assists and monitors team members engaged in the performance of the Collections System Operation, preventative maintenance and repair programs.
  • Performs CCTV inspections of system components.
  • Assures compliance with State issued utility system permits.
  • Evaluates gravity sewer system inspection and cleaning data.
  • Recommends repair needs to division Supervisor
  • Creates weekly work plan and associated work orders for work team
  • Coordinates response to SSO's and sewer odor calls; inspecting manholes for blockages and resolving odor issues.
  • Coordinates traffic control plan implementation.
  • Maintains records of team members' performance and behavioral issues.
  • Performs final Certificate of Occupancy service inspections.
  • Serves as backup ORC
  • Performs other job-related tasks as required.

WHATYOU'LL NEED:
High School Diploma or GED and aminimum of three (3) years of experience.
Special Qualifications
Possession of a NC class B-Distribution or Class III Collections certification or the ability to obtain one of these certifications within 12 months
Possession of an OSHA Competent Person Certificate or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Possession of an OSHA Trenching and Shoring Certificate or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Possession of an OSHA Confined Space Certificate or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Possession of a NASSCO Pipe Assessment Certificate or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
Possession of a valid NC Class B commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
