Job description

Salary Range:  $138,585 - $210,000

The Sector Business Development Manager works on selected RFP opportunities and supports proposal preparation, team building, market research and win strategies. This position will report directly to the Sector Lead and may support proposal work across the company's sectors.

Essential Job Functions:

Leading and managing winning capture strategies and obtaining the resources necessary to execute the capture plans and pursuits.

Identifying the resources (both internal and external to the company) required to pursue contracts.

Foster relationships with customers for specific opportunities.

Formulating and establishing external teaming and partnering strategies to include identifying, selecting, and recruiting teammates and suppliers that increase the PWin.

Preparing, coordinating, and presenting intermittent capture and gate reviews to senior leadership.

Developing win themes, discriminators, and proposal messaging.

Assisting significantly with proposal development, including participating in black hat reviews and ensuring win themes, customer knowledge, and discriminators are incorporated.

Supporting pricing strategy development.

Participating in applicable continuous improvement projects across the processes.

Ensure that all business activity is conducted in line with company values, policies and ethics codes of conduct.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A Bachelor's Degree and 15 years of experience in Senior Management, Business Development, and/or Capture of opportunities within the defense and/or national security sector.

Must be able to obtain and maintain program security clearance for the duration of employment.

Knowledge of, and experience using Business Development CRM toolsets.

Experience leading development of simple and complex solicitation solutions, utilizing for both small opportunities as well as large IDIQ/MACs (i.e. OASIS, IAC MAC, Seaport-NxG, RS3).

Proven ability to lead complex teams consisting of matrix support and teammates to successfully prosecute strategic opportunities.

Demonstrated experience engaging with senior corporate leaders and Department of Defense clients.

An accomplished business developer/growth lead who understands business development, capture, project management, contracts, and proposal development.

Proven project management skills, including demonstrated ability to schedule, manage, and accomplish winning campaigns on-time.

A strategic thinker, capable of building and maintaining internal and teammate relationships. 

Demonstrated effective negotiating skills.

A hands-on manager with excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills (this position is a non-management position but management skills are required to effectively managed assigned captures).

Ability to build effective working relationships and communicating appropriately at customer, teammate and internal organization level.

Strong analytical skills both quantitative and qualitative - with the ability to recognize trends and perceive connections among information of different types and sources.
