About the Role

We're looking for a detailoriented, mechanically skilled technician to support onsite customer required FAI data population and mylarbased inspection setup activities for aerospace tube assemblies. This role is essential to ensuring accurate First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation, dimensional validation, and compliance with engineering and quality standards.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys handson technical work, precision measurement, and structured digital data entry - and who thrives in a fastpaced, qualitydriven environment.

What You'll Do

FAI Data Fill (50% of the Role)

  • Perform onsite FAI data entry, validation, and configuration.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and traceability of all inspection characteristics.
  • Crosscheck FAI entries against engineering drawings, method sheets, and inspection setups.
  • Resolve missing or conflicting data by working with Quality and Engineering teams.
  • Support FAI documentation and production verification activities.

Mylar Inspection Setup

  • Perform mylarbased inspection setups per customer requirements.
  • Lay out mylar on magnetic surface plates, ensuring no distortion or unevenness.
  • Identify inspection points using engineering drawings and inspection data blocks.
  • Install and position stanchions, yokes, extensions, and fixtures at defined locations.
  • Set stanchion heights using calibrated height gages; establish yoke angles using miracle point, protractor, or digital angle finder.
  • Apply halftolerance logic, calculate shim requirements, and adjust setups for proper alignment.

Quality & Documentation Support

  • Ensure all setup points are captured and aligned with inspection geometry.
  • Support validation activities with Quality Technicians and Delegates.
  • Document setup completion and communicate inspection readiness.
  • Assist with Characteristic Accountability Forms and other FAI documentation.

Safety & Equipment Care

  • Follow all PPE and safety protocols.
  • Handle metal components and precision tooling carefully.
  • Maintain clean, debrisfree surface plates and properly store all fixtures.

What You Bring

  • Experience with inspection setups, precision measurement tools, or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, inspection data blocks, and method sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic understanding of geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to learn and execute eCAV workflows accurately.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with Quality and Engineering teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Mylar or tube inspection setup experience.
  • Familiarity with FAI processes and aerospace quality standards.
  • Experience with height gages, angle measurement tools, and surface plates.
  • Knowledge of calibration control and gage management.

Why Join Us?

  • Work onsite with a highimpact aerospace quality team.
  • Contribute directly to FAA/DOD compliance and FAI recovery initiatives.
  • Gain handson experience with both digital inspection systems and physical inspection setups.
  • Be part of a structured, wellsupported project with clear workflows and training.
