Unmanned Systems Software Developer
The Opportunity:
As a full-stack developer, you can resolve a problem with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast, agile environment. We're looking for a seasoned developer like you with the expertise needed to build software and systems from vision to production ready.
This role is more than just coding. As a lead full-stack developer at Booz Allen, you have the chance to shape the Navy's mission by leading engineering efforts to develop, operate, and maintain complex technology systems using engineering principles, theories, and concepts. You will support full lifecycle engineering for vehicle interface services (VIS) for unmanned systems, including design, development, integration, sustainment, and documentation. You will perform systems integration of VIS components and third-party systems. Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions.
You'll oversee a team as they learn new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. You'll help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You'll make sure the solution developed by the team considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications using Agile methods
  • 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role using basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks
  • Experience with DevSecOps tool suites, including CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience troubleshooting complex operating systems and networks in a Linux environment
  • Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, product management, and software products
  • Experience analyzing complex technical challenges, identifying effective solutions, and troubleshooting issues efficiently
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly with team members and stakeholders and work effectively in an Agile development environment
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree, or 10+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree
  • DoW 8140 Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • 2+ years of experience with container orchestration platforms, including Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, or Helm
  • Experience working with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
  • Experience with Java, Python, C#, C/C++, .NET, JavaScript, Angular, and NodeJS
  • Experience with implementation of ABL and UMAA standards
  • Knowledge of the distributed data service bus and modern networking protocols to build interfaces to facilitate data dissemination, payload management, and situational awareness between C2 software and the vehicle
  • Master's degree

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
