THE ROLE
You will work as an independent software developer on a client project in Frogslayer's consultancy practice. Projects span web, desktop, mobile, and embedded systems across diverse industries. Frogslayer is technology-agnostic and selects the best tools for each engagement. Common technologies include C#, ASP.NET Core, Python, Django, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Azure DevOps, GitLab, Docker, AWS, Azure, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Develop custom software solutions - this role is 80-90% hands-on coding
  • Write code to implement features and modules according to project specifications
  • Debug code and resolve technical problems
  • Research solutions to technical problems and implement appropriate approaches
  • Test your work and participate in code reviews
  • Collaborate with other developers on features or project deliverables
  • Estimate work required to implement features or modules
  • Communicate with project team regarding progress of key tasks or technical issues
  • Assist in creation of design documents and technical artifacts as needed
  • NOTE: this role will require a minimum of 20 hours per week, and availability during the workday (8am - 6pm CT) to coordinate with team leads
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated software development experience (2-3 years or equivalent)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage deliverables
  • Clear, proactive communication about progress and technical challenges
  • Professional approach to client-facing work
  • Ability to learn new technologies and frameworks quickly
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals and best practices
  • Desire to write maintainable, high-quality code
  • Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative development workflows
