Position Information
Position Title Graduate Assistant-Part time (10 hours per week) 1 positions available Description of GA Assignment GA: Faculty Support - Assist faculty, services may include tasks as supervising laboratories under their supervision; grading quizzes, homework, and other projects; and assist with other course and research related duties as assigned. Job Description Summary
Provide one-on-one academic tutoring to teach and reteach concepts to H.E.L.P. students
Offer assistance with developing study strategies
Work with students to develop a plan that fits the student's individual needs
Assist students in developing a schedule for study sessions
Clarify/augment student notes from lecture
Teach concepts using multi-sensory techniques to maximize student understanding and recall
Teach organization and time managements skills
Monitor students' progress through communication with students and professors
Send notification to professors regarding students' with disabilities and accommodations
Organize and facilitate testing accommodations according to students' diagnosis for compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act and Vocational Rehabilitation Act
Proctor exams under supervision
Maintain student attendance records
Notify students and parents regarding students' absences from tutoring sessions
Write End of Semester Reports for each student
Participate in scheduled tutor training and development sessions
