SUMMARY

The Packing Operator is responsible for loading and packing Revolution Farms' products, as well as performing sanitation to ensure quality and compliance with food safety standards. This role involves operating machinery, performing repetitive tasks at high speed, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a climate-controlled environment with temperatures around 36F.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Properly load and package Revolution Farms' products on assigned machines
  • Inspect produce for defects, contaminationnts, and foreign materials during loading and packing; report any issues promptly
  • Inspect packaging for defects or contaminantstion; report any issues promptly
  • Meet or exceed established production efficiency standards
  • Rotate workstations as required to support workflow
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company standards
  • Complete all required Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), including beginning and end of day, and ongoing throughout shift
  • Comply with all written Good Manufacturing and Agricultural Practices (GMPs/GAPs) at all times, including but not limited to, personal clothing, personal items, personal hygiene, food safety attire, and proper food handling and sanitation.
  • Support and maintain the placement and storage of produce, packaging, and other materials in their designated areas within the packing cooler
  • Adhere to standards for material storage, including maintaining 6-inch clearance from walls, keeping items off the ground, and establishing lanes between products
  • Perform high-speed, repetitive tasks such as machine operation, hand packing, palletization, and shipping
  • Understand lettuce blend ingredients andmix ratios using basic math skills
  • Be able to properly identify all lettuce varieties and mixesblends visually
  • Organize produce and packaging to comply with First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions
  • Communicate effectively with other Team Members and Staff
  • Contribute positively to team goals and maintain a collaborative work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 18 years old
  • Must be able lift and carry up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to read numbers on a digital scale

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will work in a climate-controlled Packing Cooler with temperatures around 36F. The Packing Cooler has an unfinished concrete floor. The floor is sometimes wet (during sanitation). The facility uses sanitizing footbath mats throughout, which require being able the ability to step in and out of the tray over a 2.5" raised tray edge. The employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.
