Title: Production Associate

Classification/Job Grade: Hourly

Location: Battle Creek, MI

Department: Plant

Supervised by: Supervisor

Job Summary:

All candidates will be required to take and pass a mechanical aptitude test prior to interview. A minimum score must be met in order to be considered for employment.

All candidates must pass a drug screen, physical, lift test and background screening.


A mechanical aptitude test must be taken and passed in order to move forward in process

Passing score determines pay rate

$21.63 - $29.75/hour + $2.00/hour shift differential while working on nights


Schedule: Thursday - Saturday 7PM-7AM, Rotating Sunday.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line
  • Perform cleanings during set down times and product changeovers
  • Load/unload stacks and moves items as assigned
  • Sort, bundle and fill containers or place in assembled units
  • Mark or place identifying labels on product loads, ensuring that all finished product is coded properly
  • Record movement of stock in and out of work areas
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties
  • Monitor materials, products and equipment at each step of the process and reports irregularities to supervisor
  • Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict efficiency
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
  • Other duties assigned or required
