Continental Dairy Facilities is Select Milk Producer's first state-of-the-art powder milk and butter facility that produces over 300,000 pounds of dry non-fat milk per day in Coopersville, Michigan. SCHEDULE

Night Shift 6:00 pm - 6:30 am (2-2-3 schedule)

*Must be willing to work weekends and holidays that fall into schedule.

PAY

$24.00/hour

$1.25/hour Night Shift Premium

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Maintains proper packaging of dry product in 25kg bags and totes via filling and stacking onto pallets using automated systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Packaging Operators are responsible for the proper filling and stacking of 25kg bags (55.115 lbs.) and accounting of Inventory produced.
  • Observing machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
  • Labeling and changing sample bags on auto sampler.
  • Monitoring the production line, watching for problems such as pileups, jams, or glue that isn't sticking properly.
  • Inspecting and removing defective products and packaging material.
  • Changing and sealing unacceptable bags of powder produced during the shift.
  • Responsible for the general cleanliness of the packaging room and its equipment. The packaging room must remain USDA inspection ready at all times.
  • Knowledge and understanding of filling equipment and maintaining a pace consistent with the packing line.
  • Reporting immediately to supervisor of any damage, irregular activity, or unsafe conditions concerning equipment.
  • Aiding in the training of new personnel.
  • Following all safety, work, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Must work in a safe, efficient manner and follow all safety procedures including the use of safety equipment.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot small problems and be able to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.
  • Must be willing to ask for assistance when the process is unclear.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must possess or be able to acquire an Industrial Truck Operator License.
