Job Description Summary
The Senior Account Director of Group Sales at The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i Resort plays a key leadership role in driving group revenue performance for one of the most iconic oceanfront resorts in Hawai'i. This role is ideal for an experienced and highly motivated group sales professional who thrives in a destination environment, excels in relationship-driven markets, and is eager to contribute to the continued commercial success of a flagship Sonesta resort.
This position combines strategic account management, new business development, and shoulder-season need-period optimization. The Senior Account Director will oversee high-value group accounts, develop targeted market strategies, and collaborate closely with revenue management, catering, and marketing to exceed annual revenue goals.
For a driven group sales manager with 5-8 years of experience, preferable in a resort and/or upscaled environment. This role offers exceptional career-growth potential and the opportunity to join a rapidly expanding hospitality brand with more than 1,200 hotels across North America.
This position is primarily property-based, with remote flexibility for highly qualified candidates.
Job Description
Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:
Key responsibilities would include selling guest rooms and meeting space within assigned accounts and segments to groups for The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i.
Other Job Functions
  • Explore new sources of business by developing new contacts.
  • Continue to develop relationships with current supporters through innovative and effective strategies.
  • Seek and contact new potential clients through:
    • Direct enquiry
    • Sales leads - domestic and overseas
    • Sales Blitz
      • Be responsible for room night and revenue production from allocated segments
      • Entertain executives and secretaries of potential corporate and travel companies and in-house guests to ensure future business to the hotel
      • Monitor monthly production and create business plans to achieve the monthly targets
      • Consistently quote rates to help achieve the hotels' occupancy, average rate, and RevPAR goals
      • Monitor competitors' performance where it relates to their particular market segment
      • Maintain and update the hotel's CRM system in accordance to Sonesta guideline
      • Attend daily sales briefings, weekly revenue meetings, and monthly sales meetings
  • Organize and participate in familiarization visits, sales blitzes, entertain and conduct other business-generating activities as and when require
  • Conduct on-site inspections for existing or prospective travel influencers, decision makers and end users.
  • Be aware of current market trends and supply competitor activity information to the sales leadership.
  • Participate in sales trips and, when required, complete all sales reports in accordance with Sonesta guidelines.
  • Participate in any projects as and when assigned by the department head.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department head.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience with hotel sales is required. Group sales experience of 3-5 years is preferred.
  • College degree preferred
  • Proficiency in Outlook, with basic knowledge of Words, Excel, Teams and PPT
  • Knowledge of Cvent, Ideas (group evaluator), Zoom info is a plus.
  • Must speak fluent English.
  • Frequently standing up or moving within and outside the facility
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25lbs
  • Communicating with customers, employees, and third parties
  • Handling objects, products and computer equipment

Additional Job Information/Anticipated
Pay Range
$100K-$120K. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, and job specific/overall experience.
