Job description

The Mother Susan Anderson Mission Home, a women's shelter operated by Soul Saving Station for Every Nation Saratoga Springs, is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and attentive Overnight House Monitor to support residents during evening and overnight hours.


This role is essential to maintaining a safe, calm, and structured environment. The Overnight House Monitor provides supervision, support, and accountability while helping ensure the safety and well-being of residents throughout the night.


This position is ideal for someone with strong observation skills, sound judgment, and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women in transition.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor resident activity and maintain a safe, secure environment during overnight hours
  • Conduct routine facility walkthroughs and safety checks
  • Ensure compliance with house rules, expectations, and shelter policies
  • Respond appropriately to resident concerns, incidents, and emergencies
  • Utilize conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques when needed
  • Document incidents, observations, and shift activity accurately and thoroughly
  • Communicate important information during shift changes to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain professional boundaries while treating residents with dignity and respect
  • Support a calm, structured, and trauma-informed environment

Qualifications

  • High level of reliability, professionalism, and personal accountability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
